STUPID POTATO Spice and Wolf's first season was pretty good; Spice and Wolf II's first 8 episodes, at least, are five pounds of awesome in a three-pound bag. I want to squish Lawrence and Holo all night long until I canna squish nae more. ♥ Mayu is In Trouble. It started yesterday morning, when she refused to stop pulling at the blinds, despite my having opened them plenty wide enough for her to watch TV; I warned her, clapped my hands, then - as the squirt bottle was in the bedroom - got some water on my hand and threatened her with the Curl-Fingered Pre-Flick O' Doom, THEN had to finally rush at her, flailing and shrieking, when she started it up again a moment later. She sassed me good for that one. ("MROWOWR?" YOU KNOW PERFECTLY WELL WHAT YOU DID WRONG, MISSY) Then she tried to claw her way into the hard-for-cats-to-open cabinet near the fridge. Kaien wanted to play that evening, but she was so short-tempered that it degenerated into actual hissing and clawing, something I've seen them do perhaps twice before in the 23 months they've lived together. :/ So, ( shenanigans. )The S&W dub seems okay. English!Holo has the haughtiness down pat - a little too pat on emphasizing some words - but nothing can stand against the cuteness of a Japanese voice actress. NOTHING Princess and the Frog tomorrow, Lost on Thursday, Sis visiting Friday~~~ |

Hmmmm. Skip Beat was my big manga discovery last year; Kimi ni Todoke has a lot of thoroughly awkward charm, too, though the heroine lacks Kyouko's rage!powers, which are hot and every character needs in some capacity. Just watched a few episodes of Spice and Wolf. It is indeed a bit slow, but I like all the economic intrigue, and that there's no modern "OH NOES U = NAKED = EYE!SEX" freakout-ery. (My biggest complaint? Horo keeps petting her tail the wrong way! Fur doesn't work like that. >:o) Something to look further into, if the DVDs are cheap. Eh, I feel a little less ill now. Time to procure foodstuffs and put other stuffs in the mail. *hopes Wienerschnitzel is no longer out of Fritos, the worthless bastards* |

"You know, maybe if you ate more comfort food, you wouldn't have to shoot people."
Man, Chris got it right again-- Lost really is what a soap opera would look like if soap operas were, y'know, good. With liberal doses of shirtlessness. Mmmmmmmmmmmmm. Shirtlessness.Just applied to layout/copyediting/office-y job in San Antonio. It's a bit like going out on a date: I know I really want it (him?) because just looking at it (him?) was enough to make me think I wasn't good enough and want to go hide under the covers and play with action figures. Must enlist friends to get car fixed this week, too. Burny smell is still burny; it's just gotten so goddamn cold (for Texas) that it's easier not to notice. (Supposed to get down to 20 later this week. O_O) ! THAT WAS WHAT ELSE I FORGOT! Action figures! Man, am I ever gonna remember to grab pictures of those? *using seven episodes' worth of brain!power!juice to write now* |

"How many S's in 'innocent'?"
Favorite videos of '09 include: ( These. )The neighbors have very recently acquired a blue pit bull puppy. Ginger is scared of stairs, and spent a while crying instead of attempting to follow Daddy down to where she was supposed to be going potty. ♥ *is not running off to check for the Vesperia movie on YT or torrents, whyever would you ask?* Ohhh Yeah!: Crap, gots to clean this place up! Chris and Joe are coming up tomorrow so I can get caught up on Lost. Say what you will about wacky plot twists, at least we know for a fact that the new season starting in a few weeks is The Very Last One. How many other shows have desperately needed a clearly demarcated ending? (I'm looking at you, shounen anime!) |

Yarp.
2009 was a damn good year. I can safely say I'll never forget it, though I'm glad it's over for many of y'all. ...Mayu is sleeping in a tiny box. More to follow once I'm done with Stuff. ♥ |

FNRRRRRRR
YOU KNOW WHAT'S BAD FOR YOUR HEART? SUDDEN CAT!TAIL ON BARE SKIN WHEN YOU'RE NOT LOOKING DAMMIT Interview this morning went...short. They were quite upfront about how many people would be yelling at me on a daily basis because high-school kids have been known to not relay important information to their parents, and that they wanted someone to stay well over a year without benefits. I, in turn, was upfront about not wanting to work there, but cordially so, and we all were happy to have wasted no more of each others' time. But the kolache place down the street is closed this week. D: D: D: Now that that's out of the way, must secure pics of Tales figurines (perhaps figure out who the hell the little dude I put between Yuri and Kratos is--the name "Asper/l L/Rant" rings no bells from any of the four Tales games listed on the box; I've played Destiny, Symphonia, and pooossibly Vesperia, and don't think he's from the Abyss), and then mail out the extras. Each guy has a little catchphrase in Japanese on his base, but Asper/l's has too many kanji to decipher. Yuri's, too. D: (According to my fast-rusting language skills, Leon's phrasing is Too Kool 4 Skool, Lloyd's is chipper-looking, and Kratos' is something very like, "Am I a monster? Fine.") -_- Our cute stray kitty is in heat. We know this because we have functioning ears. Poor Mayu has been prowling around the door all day; Mommy and Daddy have strictly forbidden her from going to the singles' mixer outside. So now we either step up plans to trap her and take her to the shelter before kittens start rolling off the assembly line - she now lets us get within a foot or so before running away - or let the stray population around here go ker'splode. Goddammit. ...You know, I've been around family cats who went on to have litters because of poor vet-appointment planning, and they never hung around outside at 3:40 a.m. giving the 180-decibel equivalent of "OH GOD YES YES OW YOU ASSHOLE" because kitty wee-wees are pointy. Sigh. |

Welp.
Wrestled all seven chapters of Ye 45,000-word Ficce up onto the Pit. Glad to see they're still randomly jamming words together in uploaded documents. -_- *lost track of hours and metric tons of frustration spent trying to fix that on dozens of Beast chapters* ... *gives up attempt to show off moko_moko's artwork till she provides links, 'cause Scrapbook is bein' a steaming pile right now* SEE, it's funny 'cause she's not allowed to hit him 'cause it's a social situation and stuff. ♥ Mom mixed up the $100 and $50 notes on my Best Buy and Gamestop cards--imagine my surprise when, purchasing Avatar Season 3 and the complete Escaflowne DVD collection because FINALLY, I still had to cough up 40 bucks. Mike was all "Just put Escaflowne back" and I was all "Just HELL NO." So, will have $100 to put toward a PS3 and whatever special bundles FFXIII will have to offer/be offered with. Must investigate differences between PS3 and Xbox versions... Returning now to Super Mario RPG. Assassin's Creed to follow. |

LAWLs sleeplessness
Staying up out of habit, I play a bit of Mario RPG, twice attempt to jump off Toad's head as he first hurries into the Mushroom Palace because I remember there's a hidden Frog Coin in this room you can only get to via jumping off his head at this point and at no other in the game (it's an invisible chest, precise location thus inscrutable at best. Gah. WHY IS THIS PARTICULAR SHRED OF DETAIL NOT IN THERE, BRAIN), quit in frustration. Get online. Rereread a_hollow_year's joyous reaction to her present. Decide, in random spurt of also!joy, to go apply for proofreading jobs in Austin via sites (plural! More than one!) set up for this very purpose. About an hour ago, as am rereading own work for posting tonight in honeymoon phase of ff.net, hear phone ring from bedroom. Is interview for Wednesday at 9. Am thrilled beyond comprehension to get such quick results...till I recall the dude mentioned Monster, on which I didn't apply to proofreading jobs because it doesn't bloody have any. Log on, check history, discover my interview is the result of a why-the-fuck-not customer service/office-y job application a few days before Christmas. Notice that the pay range was 22,000-25,000, which breaks down to about 11-12 bucks an hour. Recall state of economy. Decide not to spit at chance for immediate full-time work. Am not burning bridges at the dorm till job offer is in hand, though. Place is very close by--does graduation stuff, I see. So, possibly short-term? Dunno. Will see. Tired. Taking Mike to get tests done in a couple hours. Blegh. |

Owwwwwwww, my tumbly
Ate too much pizza x_x SO, good Christmas overall. Weird, what with the work schedules and Mayu battering the side of my head with her tail--but I got some decent swag. My question to you, viewers at home--what do I do with a $100 Best Buy card and $50 Gamestop one? Keep in mind Mike got me Super Mario RPG, Chris lent me Jeanne d'Arc on the PSP, and buddies provided the first Assassin's Creed, for starters. Mike is playing his new copy of Force Unleashed (Xbox, and yes, the black lightsaber looks cooool), after which he has Fable II. So. Yeah. I'm good on games for the foreseeable future. @_@ I did not get the PS3 I asked for, thanks to crappy interfamilial communication, but am prepared to console myself via buying one. But Mike only got the first two seasons of Avatar, which we have not rewatched in long, arduous months...and Chris had the PSP remake of the second Star Ocean, the PlayStation version of which occupied us for many moons, which now has new bits and a new script (the original was brought to us by the localizers who did such a spectacularly shitty job on FFVII) AND new voicework, including the chick who did Estelle in Vesperia as...well, another adorable girl with unique healing powers. BUT I WANT But moko_moko and I finally finished our sooper-sekrit Xmas project of great Vesperial justice!! (And empath_eia helped!!) I'd have it up for all to see, but the years I've spent off the Pit (fanfiction.net) have seen a bazillion changes, including Thou Shalt Wait A Couple Days Before Posting Stories, Just To See If You Really Like Us For Who We Are. So, I am getting a trillion hours of sleep tonight, g'night "OH GEE LOOK I R SITH APPRENTICE OF GREAT ASS-KICKING OWWWWWWWW SPARKS MY ONE WEAKNESS"? SERIOUSLY, A ONE-HITTER? SPARKS? SERIOUSLY? |
